Initial Long Term Care Partnership Program Training
Initial Long Term Care Partnership Program Training
The initial Long Term Care Partnership Program training, an eight-hour course, examines the broad range of services included under the rubric long-term care, the venues in which the services are administered and their national average costs. It looks at the benefits of participating in a long-term care partnership program, the requirements that must be met to obtain partnership long-term care benefits, and considers the suitability and ethical mandates imposed on insurance agents recommending long-term care insurance.
Upon completion, a student should be able to:
- Recognize the types of services that constitute long term care and the settings in which they are provided;
- Compare the benefit triggers associated with qualified and nonqualified long term care;
- Describe the benefits of participating in the long-term care insurance partnership program;
- Identify the national average cost in the United States of obtaining various types of long term care and the sources available to pay for the care;
- Recognize the benefits and tax treatment of long term care insurance and the alternatives for funding long term care; and
- Describe the suitability and ethical issues associated with recommending the purchase of long term care insurance.
